This Weekend 1/20 – 1/23

Good Morning everyone, I have some news to inform you with so listen up.  We are playing three shows this weekend.  The first of which starts tonight in Schererville Indiana at a place called The Moder Post.  I am personally excited to get back in the minivan and hit the road with the band.  It has been to long since we have been on the road and I feel like that is where I belong most of the time.  The second show, which will take place tomorrow night (Friday 1/21) is going to be at O’Sullivans in Fort Wayne Indiana.  I absolutely love this bar and if you have not been to one of our shows here before then now is your time.  Last time before we played we all got a little strip tease show on the bar, trust me this bar is awesome.  Not to mention we are playing with some of our friends in a band named Gutshot and then hopefully some guys who are going to become every one’s friends from Cleveland, the band All Dinosaurs.  We our closing out our weekend in Indianapolis Indiana at a place called The Melody Inn.  We have played here once before and it is a really cool bar with nice people and we would love to see any familiar faces show up.  If you have any questions about any of these shows feel free to email me at info@thedeadrecords.com.  If you have no questions then do as you always do, tell everyone about the show, come out and get rowdy.  We will see all of you soon.

THE FIREHOUSE

Tonight we are luck enough to be able to share the stage with a band from Chicago, IL by the name of Maps and Atlases.  We will be playing at The Firehouse in North Manchester, IN.  We couldnt be more excited to play this show at this venue and see everyone we always love to see.  I want to make this brief so if you havent made plans to come to the show tonight, now is the time.  Tell everyone you know because I have a feeling it is going to be a fantastic way to crack off the weekend.

The New Year

As hopefully everyone knows we have entered a new year.  The year is now 2011 and for us that means we have been a band for over 2 years.  So what is 2011 going to bring for The Dead Records?  Let me answer.  We have written 7 new songs as of today.  The songs are at different levels of completion, but at this rate we should be looking to record another full length late in the winter or early in the Spring.  We are excited about the direction of the songs and think that everyone will like the direction that we are taking.  As you can see, we have been booking shows both locally and out of town.  The first one, which we are really excited about is at The Firehouse with a pretty popular band from Chicago, named Maps and Atlases (www.mapsandatlases.org).  Following that show we are playing in Schereville, Indiana and Indianapolis, Indiana.  If anyone wants to take a road trip to either of those shows we would be happy to see you.  We will also be hosting a band from Cleveland called All Dinosaurs at O’Sullivans, here in Fort Wayne on the 21st of this month.  Be sure to come out for this show, we love playing at O’Sullivans.  These shows always seem to be more crazy than others and that is why we love the bar so much.  We are excited about the new year and hope all you guys that supported us in the past couple years will continue to do so in 2011.

Another Update.

Hey Yall, wanted to keep everyone updated on what is going on this busy holiday season.  I have mentioned before that we are in the process of writing new songs and that is exactly what we have been doing.  We have six new songs that are all in different forms of completion, but I am excited about every single one.  We are also booking more and more shows so please be sure to check out our shows.  The most recent show that we booked is in Schereville, Indiana at a place called The Modern Post.  I personally do not know anything about this part of Indiana, so it should be an adventure.  If you havnt signed up for email updates yet be sure to do so and keep checking in for more updates.

THE READ DECORDS

In case you have not realized what The Read Decords is, let me show you the light.  The Read Decords is our street team.  It is you helping us do promotion in small ways, such as recruiting members for The Read Decords or telling people about our shows and bringing your friends to shows.  It is our way to kind of let you into our band, plus by signing up for The Read Decords you will recieve email updates that not just anybody will have access too.  You may be asking yourself, “How will people know that I am member of The Read Decords?”  Worry no more, we will have that covered shortly and all I can tell you is that it will come to you as a rare t shirt that can only be worn through recruiting members.  So sign up for our team and have fun with it.

On another note, thanks to everyone who made the show at The Firehouse this Saturday an absolute blast, we always appreciate everybodysupporting our cause, because we know that without you nothing will ever happen for us, so we appreciate you all.  Or in the words of Aaron Taylor, “We greatly appreciate you.” – Sean

SHOWTIME!

Just to remind everybody we have a show coming up this Saturday at The Firehouse in North Manchester, Indiana.  In case you arent familier with The Firehouse, it is time to become familier.  It is run by one of our favorite people, Jabin Burnworth and he has done an excellant job getting kids in a small town interested in music that would otherwise not be available to them.  All of us were frequent visitors to The Firehouse growing up and it is our absolute favorite place to play.  We were invited to play with a band called Surprise Asteroid (www.surpriseasteroid.com).  Joby Adams, front man of Surprise Asteroid, was responsible for helping us record our first two records and we are really excited to share the stage with his upstart project.  It is going to be their CD release show so hopefully everyone will leave with a copy of their CD.  I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday, December 18th.  Be there at about 6 30 show will most likely start at 7 or 7 30.  As always if you have any questions about the show you can always email us.

Christmas Time.

As everyone knows we are getting close to Christmas.  I know how stressful and stupid it can be buying gifts.  You have to go to the stores, packed full of people scrambling to get their gifts and by the time you leave you realize that you didnt get what you wanted to and you are pissed off.  Well stress no more, I have a solution.  What could be a better Christmas gift then some TDR merchendise?  Who wouldnt want to wake up Christmas morning to a TDR t-shirt or CD.  To make it easier, you dont have to go to a store, everything you could ever want for under the tree, or in the stocking is right here, only a click away.  Go to our store and pick up a shirt or two.  We dont have our CD’s on there yet but will soon.  If you need one right away, you can download it, or email us and we will make sure you have what you want.  Their you go, christmas with The Dead Records.

The Dead Records Online!

Yes.  I know we are currently online.  But now we are really online, with our brand new website.  Anything you could ever want to know about our band.  You can get all of our merchendise here, find out when and where we are playing, read about our band, find out what is going on most recently with us, check out pictures of our shows, watch our video blogs.  Anything you could ever want about The Dead Records in one generalized area.

But that is not even the best part.  You can now sign up for our very first street team.  Hopefully you werent confused when you saw THE READ DECORDS.  No, that is not a typo.  That is our street team and we need everyones help.  Sign up for our mailing list and get updates from our band.  Dont worry, we wont be spamming every two days, I personally know how annoying that can get.  These will be legitimate updates, like emails for shows and important upcoming events, so you can be a part of it.  So sign up for THE READ DECORDS and become part of THE DEAD RECORDS.

I think that is all I have to say for now.  Remember to check back daily and always know what is going on with our band.  If you have Twitter follow us, if you dont have Twitter and have no clue what that means, get Twitter now.  It is cool to have Twitter (At least that is what I heard).  If you have absolutely any questions or just want to get in touch with any of us, email us at info@thedeadrecords.com.  If you dont have our CD’s click that little box on the right hand side and buy that shit.

I will talk with everyone soon, Sean.
